Vishnu temple and the deity is called by name “Azhagar”

It has other names like, Solaimalai, Southern Thiruppathi, Thirumalirum Solai Azhagar, is believed to be the brother of Meenakshi, the presiding deity at the Meenakshi temple.

The festival calendars of these two temples overlap during the Meenakshi Thirukalyanam festival.

Palamudhircholai:(>Ripe fruit green) Palamudhir Cholai

This is yet another beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Murugan and it is located on hill top. It is considered as one amongst the six abodes of god Murugan. The sculptures carved of marble and wood are unique. The giant steps in front of the temple make for a great climb.

It is situated 4 kms above and so is the Nuburagangai – a place where pilgrims can take a holy dip.
Distance: A hill situated 20 km northeast of Madurai.
