Koodal Azhagar Temple

Arulmigu Koodal Azhagar Perumal Temple is considered to be one of the ancient Vishnu temples in South India. It is dedicated to God Vishnu. It is believed to have been built by Vishwa Karma.(The lord of creation) God is Sundararaja Perumal and Goddess Maduravalli Nachiar.

This is one among the 108 Vaishnavite Shrines.It is situated at the centre of city. Koodal Azhagar temple stands for its architectural excellence of the ancient period. The architecture, the sculptures and the paintings of the temple are really enthralling.

It is wonder to see that the idols of Navagraham (nine planet deities), are found in koodal alagar temple: usually Navagraham can be seen only in shiva temples.
